White fillings

White fillings, otherwise known as composite fillings or tooth-coloured fillings are our most commonly recommended treatment to fill small to medium sized holes in either front or back teeth.

Our practice uses tooth-coloured restorative materials (composite white fillings) for health and aesthetic reasons. Compared to metal/amalgam fillings, the process of placing a tooth-colored material is less destructive on the tooth structure, because the filling bonds to the tooth and does not require extensive drilling. Also, amalgam contains mercury and other metals, which may have negative effects on your health. Composite materials are made of resin and ceramic particles and are bio-compatible with the human body.
